How do you want to play Pick 4? The California variant of the game - known as Daily 4 - gives you three distinct play styles to choose from: Straight, Box and Straight/Box. We've explained each one for you in the boxes below so you can know exactly which one to pick.
The most 'straight' forward way to play Pick 4! To win this play type you must match the numbers in the exact order you played them. That means there's only one way to win - but the prize is the highest of all the play types!
Boost your odds of winning with the Box option. In this play type, all you have to do is match the numbers drawn - it doesn't matter which order you put them in! There are also different ways you can play this game style. Look at our 'Ways to Match Numbers' section to look at the different ways you can play it.
Why choose between both play types when you can pick both! When you select Straight/Box you will split a $1 play on both of them. Match numbers in the exact order to win half the straight prize and box prize. Match numbers in any order to win half the box prize.
There are multiple ways you can choose to play the 'Box' option in Pick 4. Decide whether you want to match four different numbers or three of the same number and one unique number etc.
